Alexei Vasilyevich Drozdov
Alexei Wassiljewitsch Drosdow ( Russian Алексей Васильевич Дроздов , English transcription Aleksey Drozdov ; born December 3, 1983 in Klinzy , Brjansk Oblast ) is a Russian decathlete .
Drosdow was Russian champion in 2005 both indoors and outdoors. In the same year he succeeded in making it into the international world elite. In March 2005 he finished sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid . In July 2005 he was U23 European Champion in Erfurt with a personal best of 8196 points. After finishing fifth at the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow , Drosdow achieved another leap in performance in the summer of 2006. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, he increased his best performance to 8350 points and won the bronze medal six points behind the second-placed Hungarian Attila Zsivóczky .
In 2007 he increased his best performance to 8,475 points and with this performance reached fourth place at the 2007 World Championships . In October 2007 he was in Hyderabad with 7712 points military world champion.
At a height of 1.84 m, his competition weight is 80 kg.
