Alexei Wassiljewitsch Fadejew ( Russian Алексей Васильевич Фадеев ; born December 10, 1977 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian Nordic combined athlete . His greatest achievement was winning the team bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships .

Career

Fadeev made his international debut in the 1995/96 season in the B World Cup . He made the leap into the World Cup two years later when he finished 15th in the Gundersen competition in November 1997 in Rovaniemi, Finland . In January 1998 he finished fifth in the sprint competition in Ramsau and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Olympic Winter Games that took place a short time later . At the games in Nagano , Japan , he was only able to place in the lower ranks.

His best performance could show Fadejew in the World Cup season 1998/99 , in which he reached three fourth places and finished the overall World Cup ranking in eleventh place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau in 1999 he was able to confirm his form with two placements among the top 15 and even win the bronze medal at the team competition together with Nikolai Parfjonow , Valeri Stolyarov and Dmitri Sinitsyn .

Fadejew could only reach the podium in the B World Cup, where he was able to complete the sprint competition in Planica in December 2001 in second and the Gundersen competition in third place.
