Alexei Pludek

Alexej Pludek (born January 29, 1923 in Prostějov , † September 7, 2002 in Prague ) was a Czech writer and politician.

Life

Pludek studied economics at the Political and Social University until 1951. The second time he passed his exams in 1966 at the University of Economics in Prague. Before the Velvet Revolution he was one of the cultural figures closely associated with the communist regime. After 1989 he became involved in the nationalist movement.

In 1992 he was elected to the federal assembly as a member of the left-wing communist coalition Levý blok ( The Left Bloc ). In 1996 he ran for the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. One of his proposals as a politician was to lower child allowances for "adaptive" families.

Works

In addition to historical novels, he has been writing children's and youth literature, science fiction novels and a screenplay since 1959.
