Alfian Yusuf Helmi (born June 15, 1916 in Way Kunang , Kotabumi , North Lampung Regency , † 1991 ) was an Indonesian diplomat .

Life

Alfian Yusuf Helmi was a Muslim and had three children. With a study of April 26, 1944, he was awarded a doctorate in economics at the University of Istanbul . He was a teacher at Talas American College .

From 1944 to 1945 he was an advisor at the Ministry of Economics of the Dutch government-in-exile in "Camp Columbia", in Wacol , a suburb of Brisbane . From 1947 to 1949 he was First Secretary in Vice President Mohammad Hatta's Economic Institute in Yogyakarta . From 1949 to 1951 he headed the economics department in the Foreign Ministry. From July 1, 1952 to May 1955, he was ambassador in Bern and, from 1954, was also accredited to the Holy See , based in Bern . From 1956 to 1961 he was ambassador to Canberra and was also accredited to Wellington . From 1961 to 1963 he headed the Department of Economics in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and until 1964 negotiations with the Japanese government. From 1964 to 1965 he headed the America Department at the State Department. From February 7, 1967 to 1970 he was ambassador in Bonn . From 1975 to 1979 he was chairman of the Perseroan Terbatas Siemens Indonesia . He died of an illness.
