Alfons Hölzl (born July 19, 1968 in Niederhatzkofen ) is a German lawyer and sports official .

Life

Career as a lawyer

Hölzl was born in 1968 in Niederhatzkofen, a district of the Lower Bavarian municipality of Rottenburg an der Laaber . After studying in Regensburg and Frankfurt am Main , he has been working as a lawyer since 1998 . In 2002 the doctorate at the University of Regensburg followed with the topic " Sport as a state goal determination ".

He is a member of the German Lawyers Association (DAV) and works there in the working groups for sports law and inheritance law.

Career as a sports official

Since 1987 Hölzl worked as a trainer in general mass sports, from 1990 in gymnastics. In 2007 he became chairman of the Upper Palatinate gymnastics district and in October of the same year president of the Bavarian Gymnastics Association (BTV).

Hölzl was elected as the new President of the German Gymnastics Federation on October 1st, 2016 .

Private

Hölzl is married and has two daughters.
