Alfons Klausener

Alfons Klausener , also Alphons Franz Klausener (born September 5, 1853 in Burtscheid , † January 15, 1921 in Aachen ) was a lawyer and mayor of the city of Aachen and a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .

Descending from the Klausener family who emigrated from Flirsch to Burtscheid in the 18th century , Alfons Klausener was the son of the Aachen master builder Friedrich Klausener and Wilhelmina Kremers.

He began his political career as a city councilor for Burtscheid and held this office until 1919. After Burtscheid was incorporated into the city of Aachen in 1897, Klausener sat from 1889 to 1921 as a member of the Center Party for his constituency of Eupen and Aachen as an unpaid councilor in the city council meanwhile also the office of an associate mayor. In the city administration, the Burtscheid administrative office and the registry office department were subordinate to him due to his origin.

In addition, Klausener was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1899 to 1918 as a member of the constituency administrative district Aachen 2 (city and district Aachen-Eupen). Here he made extraordinary services to the city of Aachen by repeatedly campaigning for a favorable solution to the railroad issue in the interests of the city in parliament and ministries.

The alderman of the city of Aachen Alfons Klausener died at the age of 67 on January 15, 1921 of a heart attack. He found his final resting place in the hot mountain cemetery in Burtscheid / Aachen .

In addition to his political tasks, Klausener was involved in a variety of voluntary work. Among other things, from 1915 to 1921 he headed the association founded in 1835 to support people in need of external fountains or bathing at the mineral springs in Aachen and Burtscheid . In addition, he was a member of the Burtscheider Citizens' Association , founded in 1876 , which he headed from 1887 to 1921 as chairman.
