Alfons Stauder

Alfons Stauder (born April 12, 1878 in Nuremberg , † December 17, 1937 in Munich ) was a German physician and medical professional.

Life

Stauder attended the Melanchthon-Gymnasium in Nuremberg and studied medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen and the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg . On May 31, 1897, he was reciprocated in the Corps Bavaria Erlangen . In 1899 he served six months as a one-year volunteer with the Royal Bavarian 19th Infantry Regiment “King Viktor Emanuel III. of Italy ” . He completed the second half from August 1, 1901 with the Royal Bavarian 8th Field Artillery Regiment "Prince Heinrich of Prussia" . In 1902 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1903 he settled in Nuremberg as a specialist in gastric, intestinal and metabolic diseases. From 1904 Stauder was a member of the board of the Medical District Association of Nuremberg, later also its 1st chairman.

With the Royal Bavarian 21st Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV. Of Mecklenburg-Schwerin" he moved to the Western Front (First World War) . On February 14, 1915 he was promoted from senior physician to staff physician. In 1919 he became chairman of the Bavarian State Committee of Doctors, and in 1927 chairman of the Bavarian State Medical Association and the Bavarian Medical Association. He was also a member of the business committee of the German Medical Association from 1921, its second chairman in 1925 and first chairman in 1926. From 1929 to 1933 he was 1st Chairman of the Association of Doctors in Germany . Stauder was editor of the Bavarian medical pocket book with commentary on Bavarian medical law (Stauder-Wirschinger) and co-editor of the Münchner Medizinische Wochenschrift . From 1919 he headed the Bavarian Medical Association, and from 1927 also the German Medical Association . In 1933 he was ousted from his functions by the Nazi regime .

Having suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy since 1919 , Stauder died at the age of 59. He was cremated and buried in the Johannisfriedhof (Nuremberg) .

Stauder was a member of the Nuremberg Masonic Lodge Joseph for Unity .
