German Doctors' Day
The German Medical Assembly is the annual meeting of the German Medical Association to the 250 delegates from the 17 German medical associations are posted. His tasks include the development of nationwide regulations on professional law and positions on health policy .
history
Since the first meeting on September 17, 1873 in Wiesbaden, the Doctors' Day has been meeting annually at different locations. The years 1912, 1915–1917, 1920, 1922, 1923 and 1932–1947 and 2020 are exceptions. The 50th German Medical Congress took place in 1931, the 51st and therefore the first after the Second World War in 1948. It has been convened annually since 1955. The state medical associations send 250 delegates for this purpose. The first German Doctors' Conference took place in Hamburg in 1991.
In addition, a total of five extraordinary German Doctors' Days took place in post-war history for a special occasion. The current president of the Doctors' Day is Klaus Reinhardt .
