Klaus Reinhardt (born May 22, 1960 in Bonn ) is a German specialist in general medicine and has been the chairman of the Hartmann Association since 2011 . He became a member of the Board of Directors of the German Medical Association in 2015 and was elected President on May 30, 2019.

Life

Reinhardt is the oldest child of the doctors Annemarie and Hans-Joachim Reinhardt. Having grown up in Bielefeld since 1965, he graduated from the Ratsgymnasium Bielefeld in 1979 . He studied 1980-1982 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Law and Philosophy and in 1981 became the Corps Rhenania Bonn recipiert . From 1982 to 1989 he studied medicine at the University of Padua . In 1990 he was approved in the Detmold administrative district . Until 1994 he worked at the cantonal psychiatric clinic Beverin in Graubünden and at the regional hospital in Lugano . In 1997 he was recognized as a specialist in general medicine.

Reinhardt has been a member of the chamber assembly of the Westphalia-Lippe Medical Association since 2001 and a member of the board and vice-president since 2005. At the German Medical Association (BÄK) he was a representative in the finance commission from 2006 to 2015. Since 2006 he has been a representative at the German Academy for General Medicine. From January 2010 to 2015 he was deputy chairman of the finance committee of the BÄK and has been a member since November 2011 and chairman of the GOÄ committee of the BÄK since 2016 . Reinhardt has been a member of the Representative Assembly of the Westphalia-Lippe Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians since 1997 and was a member of the Quality Assurance and Quality Management Committee from 2001 to 2005 and a member of the Finance Committee from 1997 to 2005. He has been a member of the Fee Allocation Committee since 2005 and its chairman since 2017. Reinhardt has been chairman of the Hartmannbund Westfalen-Lippe since 2005 . Also since 2005 he has been a board member of the state association of the liberal professions in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2009 he became Deputy Federal Chairman of the Hartmann Association. Since October 28, 2011 he has been federal chairman of the Hartmannbund. Since 2015 he has been an elected member of the German Medical Association Board of the German Medical Association. Reinhardt is established as a general practitioner and family doctor in Bielefeld . He has been married to Alexandra Simons-Reinhardt since 1991 and has four children.

On May 30, 2019, he was elected as the new President of the German Medical Association at the 122nd German Medical Congress in Münster . He prevailed in the third ballot with 124 to 121 votes against Martina Wenker , President of the Lower Saxony Medical Association .
