Alfred Bussey

Alfred Bussey (born November 10, 1915 in Vevey , † November 6, 1987 in Lausanne , resident in Montbovon and Lausanne) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

After his typesetter and typographer apprenticeship, Bussey worked for the city administration of Lausanne . There he was appointed the first head of the sports department. In 1945 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud . In 1958, the Lausanne population elected him to the city government. There he was responsible for the police system until 1962 and for finances until 1973. In 1967 he was elected to the National Council and had to give up his seat in the Grand Council. In 1977 he was President of the National Council and left the Grand Chamber two years later (1979).

In his career he was, among other things, President of the SP of the Canton of Vaud and held various board memberships such as at Comptoir suisse , Energie Ouest-Suisse and the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise .
