Alfred Dietrich (born July 11, 1843 in Pirna ; † September 6, 1898 ) was a German shipbuilding engineer .

Life

Born in Pirna, Dietrich visited in Dresden the school , studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic Institute in Dresden and shipbuilding at the Royal Institute or the Commercial Commercial Academy Berlin .

After completing his studies, he worked in the Prussian Navy Ministry under Elbertzhagen and the chief designer Koch of the Royal Admiralty . For his lecture given in front of the Institution of Naval Architects in 1896 , he received the society's gold medal. He campaigned very strongly for the idea of ​​a German ship engineering association, which was founded a year after his death as a shipbuilding engineering company .
