Alfred Nagl

Alfred Nagl (born May 21, 1841 in Krems an der Donau ; † October 5, 1921 in Vienna ) was an Austrian numismatist , historian and lawyer.

Alfred Nagl studied law at the University of Vienna and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD . From 1872 until his retirement in 1909 he worked as court and judge lawyer in Vienna.

In addition to his professional activity, Nagl stood out through numerous publications on monetary and currency history, metrology and arithmetic in antiquity and the Middle Ages. He was Vice President of the Association for Regional Studies of Lower Austria and an honorary member of the Austrian Numismatic Society .
