career

Rieß, who became a member of his hometown club TSV 1861 Nördlingen as a child , was hired as a junior player by VfR Aalen around 1970 , who at that time played in the lower class A-class Kocher-Rems and at the end of the 1970/71 season in the 2 Amateur league Württemberg 3 rose, in the 1971/72 the march through to the amateur league North Württemberg succeeded. Presumably still playing in this league, Riess was signed by TSV 1860 Munich in 1976 , with whom he played in the second division in the 1976/77 season and made it to the Bundesliga . Receiving no contract for this league, Riess moved to the Austrian first division club First Vienna FC in 1977 , for whom he played for the entire 1977/78 season and in the first months of the 1978/79 season. In November 1978 Riess moved back to the 2nd Bundesliga for FC 08 Homburg , where he was under contract until the end of the 1978/79 season. He then played again for his home club TSV Nördlingen, for which he also worked as a coach in the late 1990s.

From 2005 to at least 2007 Rieß looked after the lower class FV Utzmemmingen and has been running a taxi company in his hometown of Nördlingen for years .
