Alfred Thomalla
Alfred Thomalla (born April 23, 1934 in Rybnik , Poland ; † April 7, 2018 ) was a German production designer and film architect .
Most of his career he worked for DEFA in the GDR . After starting out in Our Sandman, he worked as a film architect and set designer.
In 2011 it became known that from 1962 onwards he worked for eight years as a secret informant for the Ministry for State Security (MfS). In 1970 he broke off contact with the MfS when he was supposed to report on a well-known director.
He was the father of actress Simone Thomalla and the grandfather of actress Sophia Thomalla .
