Alfred Trautmann

Alfred Trautmann (born December 12, 1884 in Halle (Saale) , † March 26, 1952 in Hanover ) was a German veterinarian and university professor .

Life

Trautmann studied medicine (in Dresden ) and veterinary medicine and received a doctorate in both subjects. From 1902 he was a member of the RSC-Corps Albingia Dresden . In 1905 he joined the Corps Saxo-Thuringia Munich . He was also a member of the Corps Hannoverania Hannover. 1921 he was appointed Wilhelm Ellenberger as Professor of Histology and Embryology at its Dresdner Institute. In 1923 he went with him to Leipzig and headed the department for his specialist areas. In 1926 he accepted the call to the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover , became a full professor there in 1928 and headed the Physiological Institute until 1952. In 1935 he became a member of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina . From 1945 to 1948 he was rector of the TiHo Hanover.
