Alfred Vogel

Alfred Vogel (born March 31, 1829 in Munich ; † October 9, 1890 there ) was a German pediatrician.

Life

Alfred Vogel was the son of the chemist Heinrich August von Vogel and graduated from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich in 1846 . from. He began studying medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1847 he became a member of the Corps Franconia Munich . As an inactive , he moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and later to the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg . In 1852 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . From 1852 to 1855 he worked as assistant doctor to Karl von Pfeufer , he completed his habilitation in 1855. From 1865 Vogel worked as an associate professor in Munich, but the following year he was appointed professor and head of the medical clinic at the University of Dorpat . In 1886 he resigned from his position in Dorpat. He returned to Munich, where he was appointed honorary professor and head of the pediatric university clinic the following year . Vogel was married to the singer Josefine Hefner since 1862. The agricultural chemist August Vogel was his brother. Alfred Vogel died at the age of 61 and was buried in the family grave in the Old Southern Cemetery in Munich (New Departments 29-01-04).
