Algirdas Bandza

Algirdas Bandza (born March 19, 1957 ) is a Lithuanian chess player and chess coach.

Life

Bandza won the championship of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1985 (together with Emilis Šlekys and W. Kozlow) and holds the title of International Master . He took part in the European Club Cup twice, in 2005 with NSEL Vilnius and in 2009 with VŠŠSM Vilnius . In Germany, Bandza played for the Wiesbaden chess club in 1885 .

Since 1992 he has also been playing correspondence chess , and in 2005 he was appointed International Correspondence Chess Master (ICCM). Bandza works as a chess trainer at the Lithuanian Children and Youth Center (LVJC) in the Šnipiškės district of Vilnius . Since 2010 he has been running the LVJC chess club for children between the ages of 6 and 18. In 2014 he worked for the daily newspaper Respublika .

Bandza is married to Rasa Kartanaitė-Bandzienė.
