Šnipiškės

Šnipiškės ( Polish Śnipiszki ) is a district of Vilnius on the right bank of the Neris before the Office Naujamiestis District in District Šnipiškės . At Konstitucijos prospektas you will find Europos Square , the seat of the Vilnius City Council , the National Gallery and the Žalgirio Hospital.

history
The Šnipiškės Jewish cemetery was established here in the 15th century . There was also the Šnipiškės synagogue . In 1702 the Catholic Church of St. Archangel Raphael Vilnius began to be built.
In Soviet Lithuania emerged Lithuanian Children and Youth Center , the Sports Palace Vilnius , Univermag -Kaufhaus (now CUP ).
