Algol is an Italian melodic death metal band from Padua that was formed in 2000.
history
The band was formed in 2000. In 2007, the debut album Wisdom Lost was released . In April and May 2011 the second album Complex Shapes was recorded. Then are Paul Speckmann , Dan Swanö and Koen Romejin be heard as a guest musician. The release took place in 2012 via Punishment 18 Records . The third album Mind Fr @ mes was released on the same label in 2016 . In her career, Algol played concerts in Italy as well as concerts in Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Slovenia and Poland , performing with Node , White Skull , Infernal Poetry , Master , Southwicked and Detonation .
style
According to Jan Wischkowski from metal.de , the band plays lively Melodic Death Metal on Complex Shapes , which has a high proportion of Thrash Metal and thus often reminds one of Arch Enemy or The Haunted . On the other hand, the keyboard seemed out of place for him, and he found it sounding almost penetrating in the background. The song Dreams / Demise is based on Power Metal and uses clear vocals. Kire Jovanovski from metal-rules.com wrote in his review of Mind Fr @ mes that it contains Melodic Death Metal, which is characterized by growls , heavy guitar riffs and aggressive drumming.
