Alhões is a locality and former municipality in Portugal .
history
Lusitans probably lived here in their long and successful struggle against the advancing Romans . The present-day place probably came into being with the settlement policy in connection with the medieval Reconquista . He received his first town charter in 1140. In the royal registers of 1258 the place is listed as Aloes , and in 1527 he is recorded there as Lugar d'alhos . Alhões was part of the Ferreiros de Tendais county . Since its dissolution in 1855, Alhões has been a municipality in the Cinfães district.
As part of the municipal reorganization of Portugal , Alhões was merged with Gralheira , Bustelo and Ramires on September 29, 2013 to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Alhões, Bustelo, Gralheira e Ramires . The seat of the new parish was Alhões.
