Alice Hirson

Alice Hirson (born March 10, 1929 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress .

Life

Alice Hirson began her acting career in the series The Edge of Night in the role of Stephanie Martin , which she played from 1969 to 1970. She could be seen in other soaps until the mid-1970s. In 1982 she finally got a supporting role in Dallas . She played her best-known role from 1994 to 1998 in the sitcom Ellen , in which she played the mother of leading actress Ellen DeGeneres. Her work includes more than 80 productions.

Hirson was married twice. From her first marriage to Roger O. Hirson , she has two sons: David, who writes plays, and Christopher Hirson, a jazz musician. Her second husband Stephen Elliott , whom she married on January 1, 1980, passed away on May 21, 2005 after 25 years of marriage.
