Alice Schmid
Alice Schmid (* 1951 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss screenwriter , director , filmmaker and writer .
life and work
Alice Schmid grew up in the Lucerne suburb of Reussbühl. She studied Spanish and Italian, and in 1976 began training as a screenwriter and director. In 1996 she finally founded her own film production company Ciné A. S. in Zurich. Schmid focuses on the topics of children, young people and violence.
For many years Alice Schmid made television films about and with children in various countries. So with child soldiers in African civil war countries or with children in Cambodia who fell victim to mines. The most recent two films were shot in Switzerland: The children from Napf and The girl from Änziloch. Laura Larissa Röösli, the main character in the second film, was part of the first film as a little girl. The children from Napf recorded the high number of over 70,000 cinema admissions for Switzerland.
Alice Schmid has lived in Romoos , the central location of the film, since the shooting of Die Kinder vom Napf .
