Alisher Gulow ( Russian Алишер Гулов ; born August 24, 1989 ) is a Tajik Taekwondoin . He starts in the middle and heavyweight division.

Gulow is trained by John Jong-hu. He contested his first international title fights at the 2009 World Championships in Copenhagen , but retired in the class up to 80 kilograms after his opening fight. The following year he won his first international medal at the Asian Championships with silver. At the 2011 World Cup in Gyeongju Gulow was able to move into the round of 16 with two opening wins , but was eliminated there against Issam Chernoubi . At the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok in 2011 , Gulow reached the final against Liu Xiaobo in the heavyweight division over 80 kilograms and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There he came in seventh place.
