Maximilian Salzmann

Maximilian Salzmann (born December 9, 1862 in Vienna , † April 17, 1954 in Graz ) was an Austrian ophthalmologist and university professor .

Life

Born in Vienna, Maximilian Salzmann devoted himself to studying medicine at the University of Vienna after completing his Matura at the humanistic grammar school , which he obtained in 1887 with the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. In the following year he took up an assistant position at the Vienna Eye Clinic under Ernst Fuchs , where he completed his habilitation in 1895 as a private lecturer in ophthalmology.

Salzmann, who was appointed associate professor in 1906, took over the chair for ophthalmology at the University of Graz in 1911 , which he held until 1934, when he was retired when he reached the age limit.
