Liu Xiaobo ( Chinese  刘 哮 波 , Pinyin Liú Xiàobō , born January 16, 1984 in Beijing ) is a Chinese Taekwondoin who starts in the heavyweight division.

Liu has been participating in international competitions since 2006. At the Asian Games in Doha in 2006 he was able to reach the semi-finals in the over 84 kilogram class and win his first medal with bronze. The following year he played his first world championship in his hometown . By reaching the quarter-finals, he got a good result. At the Asian Cup in Henan in 2008 , Liu won the heavyweight title. He qualified for the Olympic home games in Beijing. In the over 80 kilogram class he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Ángel Matos and finished eighth in the final ranking.

The year 2011 was also successful for Liu. At the World Cup in Gyeongju he moved into his second World Cup quarter-finals, where he was eliminated by Akmal Ergashev . At the end of the year he won the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok in the over 80 kg class in the final against Alischer Gulow and qualified for his second Olympic Games in London in 2012 . There he won the bronze medal, with a 3-2 victory over Bahri Tanrıkulu .
