Alissa Moiseevna Znamenskaya

Alissa Moiseevna Snamenskaja ( Russian Алиса Моисеевна Знаменская ; born August 12 . Jul / 25. August  1915 greg. In Yekaterinoslav ; † 19th November 1995 in Zhukovsky ) was a Soviet aerospace engineer .

Life

Znamenskaya studied mechanical engineering at the Moscow Mechanics Institute for Ammunition of the People's Commissariat for Ammunition of the USSR , graduating in 1935.

After completing his studies, Znamenskaya worked in the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (ZAGI) in Zhukovsky and then in the Aviation Research Institute (LII) founded in 1941 before the German-Soviet War . She led the development of measurement programs for flight testing in the aviation and space technology . She developed systems for radio telemetry and on-board diagnosis and introduced them. She developed safety systems for flight testing of cruise missiles .

In 1962 Znamenskaya was awarded a doctorate in technical sciences . In 1969 she was appointed professor.

Znamenskaya was married to the LII chief engineer Sergei Iossifowitsch Znamensky (1913-1970). Her grandson Mikhail is LII chief engineer. Znamenskaya was buried next to her husband in the Bykovskoye memorial cemetery in Zhukovsky.
