Allal Ben Kassou , often just called Allal , (born November 30, 1941 in Rabat , † October 29, 2013 ibid) was a Moroccan football player .

Athletic career

Ben Kassou played his entire playing career at FAR Rabat , which he joined in 1959. Between 1961 and 1964, the goalkeeper won the national league title four times in a row with the club, followed by other championships in 1967, 1968 and 1970.

Between 1964 and 1974, Ben Kassou played in the Moroccan national team , with which he took part in the 1964 Olympic football tournament , the 1970 World Cup , the 1972 African Championship and the 1972 Olympic football tournament . At the World Cup finals in 1970, he played two games in the group stage, at the end of which the team was eliminated as bottom group. The last group game played Mohamed Hazzaz , who was also the goalkeeper at the 1972 Olympics. He played a total of 116 international matches . In 1972 Ben Kassou was also in goal in a Maghreb selection, which won a tournament on the occasion of the inauguration of Stade 5 Juillet in 1962 in Algiers .

In 1970, Ben Kassou finished seventh in the vote for Africa's Footballer of the Year .

After the end of his career, Ben Kassou worked as a goalkeeper coach for FAR Rabat, IZK Khémisset and Maghreb Tétouan .
