Allan Carr (born May 27, 1937 in Chicago , Illinois , † June 29, 1999 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American film and theater director and film producer .

Life

Carr attended Lake Forest College and graduated from Northwestern University . He became known as a film producer with the films Grease and Grease 2 .

For Can't stop the Music , where he worked as a producer and screenwriter, he was awarded the Golden Raspberry in two categories in 1981 .

In 1989 he was the producer of the 61st Academy Awards .
