action

Fall 1961. New groups of students are introduced: Members of the T-Birds, led by Johnny Nogerelli, and the Pink Ladies, led by Stephanie Zinone. He wants to meet her, but she no longer has any feelings for him.

Meanwhile, Michael, an exchange student from England, arrives. He is the cousin of Sandy Olsson (the role Olivia Newton-John played in the first film). Michael tries to get Stephanie, but she doesn't want to go out with a normal student. Stephanie dreams of a "cool rider" on a motorcycle.

Michael does the homework of the T-Birds for a fee so that he can soon buy his own motorcycle. He wants to impress Stephanie with that.

After a game of bowling, the T-Birds face a confrontation with their rival, the Cycle Lords . When one of the T-Birds falls into the hands of the Cycle Lords and he is on the verge of being beaten up by them, a mysterious biker appears and intervenes. This annoys the Cycle Lords. They let go of their victim and pursue the stranger. Stephanie becomes aware of him and now raves about him. Now Michael is in a quandary: either he continues to play the mysterious biker or he tells Stephanie that he is the biker who impressed her so much and runs the risk of losing her forever.

Johnny is jealous of Stephanie and the mysterious biker (Michael). He vows to take revenge on him and threatens Stephanie to beat him up the next time he sees him.

At the June Moon Talent Contest (a rehearsal for the graduation ceremony in 1962) the T-Birds chase the mysterious biker to a construction site on a dangerous stretch of road (“Dead Man's Curve”), from where he jumps into the night. One searches in vain for him and believes that he jumped to his death at this dangerous point. Stephanie is devastated.

Johnny and Stephanie are "crowned" king and queen of the talent show at the graduation ceremony. A little later the Cycle Lords appear and threaten to destroy everything. The mysterious biker suddenly reappears out of nowhere. He now reveals himself as Michael.

Stephanie is shocked to realize that the man she fell in love with is her schoolmate Michael. After the initial shock, Johnny makes Michael a member of the T-Birds by handing him a T-Bird jacket.

criticism

“Musically uninteresting and unimaginative in terms of staging of the film“ Schmiere ”based on a Broadway musical. The poorness of the story - boy meets girl and finally gets it through a "Superman masquerade" - is only exceeded by the poor performance of the main actors. "

Grease 2 was a flop with critics and audiences alike. The film couldn't trigger the hype of its predecessor. Critics also complained that the songs did not fit the plot line.

Awards

Michelle Pfeiffer and the film for best music film were nominated for the Young Artist Award in 1983 .
