Allan Mortensen

Allan Mortensen (born April 27, 1946 in Aarhus , Denmark ) is a Danish actor , singer and musician .

Career

After finishing school, Mortensen began training as a lithographer at the Aarhus-based company Hammerschmidt . In the late 1960s he went to Copenhagen where he began a career as a singer in the experimental rock bands Tears and Midnight . He was later offered the lead role as Judas in the rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar and a lead role in the musical Hair , where he achieved a breakthrough. He achieved further fame as a singer and performer, from 1974 on Danish television, through several appearances in various television shows and music programs. During that time he also received several offers from West Germany , which he refused. In the 1970s Allan Mortensen released several LPs in the genres rock , pop , gospel and American soul music . In 1978 he brought out the Danish country album Cowboy uden hest (The cowboy without a horse) . He also worked in several bands . Mortensen took part in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix , the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , in 1979, 1980 and 1981 with the contributions Mill Song , Swing Time Again and King Kong Boogie . Allan Mortensen was involved in Denmark as an actor, musician, composer and singer in the theater , in cabaret , in musical revues and on television in many performances and broadcasts .

His daughter Veronica Mortensen is also a well-known singer in Denmark.
