Allison Baver (born August 11, 1980 in Reading ) is a former American short tracker .

She started her athletic career on inline skates and took part in national championships. She only switched to the ice when she started high school . She has been a member of the US national team since 2002. She took part in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in the 3000 m relay and reached seventh place. In the 2002/03 season she made her debut in the World Cup. She celebrated her first successes in the 2004/05 World Cup season . She finished sixth in the overall World Cup, the best placement of an American short tracker in the overall World Cup for more than ten years. In the following season 2005/06 she was then overall World Cup third. At the World Championships in Minneapolis she was fourth in the 1500 m, won bronze in the 3000 m superfinal and was fifth in the all-around event. At the Olympic Games in Turin , Baver reached two top ten placements, she was seventh over 500 m and fourth with the relay. A year later she repeated the fifth place in the all-around at the World Championships in Milan . That year she was also the first US champion. Baver's greatest sporting success was the bronze medal with the relay at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver . Initially, the season placed fourth, but after the disqualification of the Koreans, it was awarded bronze. After the games, Baver ended her active career.

Baver's career was repeatedly affected by serious injuries. Among other things, she collided with her teammate Katherine Reutter in a World Cup race in February 2009 and broke her leg. In 2006 she also injured her leg and in 2007 her shoulder, and was absent for around six months.

In 2003, Baver graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in marketing and management. In 2007 she obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the New York Institute of Technology .
