The 2005/06 Short Track World Cup ran from September 30, 2005 to November 20, 2005 and was held in four countries. Due to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the World Cup comprised only four instead of the usual six World Cup events.
In addition to the Olympic Games, the highlights of the season included the 2006 European Championship in Krynica-Zdrój , the 2006 World Championship in Minneapolis and the 2006 World Team Championship in Montreal .
The World Cups in Bormia and The Hague also served as qualifications for the Olympic Games.

This season the venues were spread over two continents, on each of which two World Cups were held. Hangzhou and Seoul in Asia, Bormio and The Hague in Europe.
