The Short Track World Cup 2009/10 ran from September 17, 2009 to November 15, 2009 and was held in four countries. Due to the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, the World Cup comprised only four instead of the usual six World Cup events.
In addition to the Olympic Games, the highlights of the season included the 2010 European Championship in Dresden , the 2010 World Championship in Sofia and the 2010 Team World Championship in Bormio .
The World Cups in Montreal and Marquette also served as qualifications for the Olympic Games.

This season the venues were spread over two continents, on each of which two World Cups were held. Beijing and Seoul in Asia, Montreal and Marquette in North America.
