Lee Eun-byul ( kor. 이은 별 ; born October 2, 1991 ) is a South Korean short tracker .

Career

Lee had her first international successes at the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Bolzano . There she won five silver and one gold. The following year she won the bronze medal with the relay at the Junior World Championships in Sherbrooke , the silver medal in 500 m, 1000 m, 1500 m and in the all-around and the gold medal in the 1500 m superfinal. She made her debut in the Short Track World Cup at the beginning of the 2009/10 season in Beijing . She took second place in the 1000 m and 1500 m respectively and took her first World Cup victory with the relay. This was followed by a victory over 1500 m in Seoul and third place over 1500 m and second place with the relay in Marquette . At the season highlight, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she won the silver medal in the 1500 m. In March 2010 she won the bronze medal over 3000 m, the silver medal over 1500 m and the gold medal with the relay at the World Championships in Sofia and the gold medal at the 2010 Team World Championships in Bormio . She finished the season in fourth place in the 1000 m World Cup and second in the 1500 m World Cup. The following year won two gold and one bronze medals at the Winter Universiade in Erzurum . In the 2011/12 season she came in second place four times and third place once in the World Cup. In addition, she won over 1500 m in Moscow and finally came second in the World Cup over 1500 m. At the season highlight of the 2012 Short Track World Championships in Shanghai , she won the bronze medal with the relay. At the Winter Universiade 2013 in Trentino she won a gold and a silver medal.

In the 2014/15 season, Lee triumphed in the World Cup in Montreal and Shanghai with the relay and also achieved third place over 3000 m and second place with the relay in Seoul . At the Winter Universiade 2015 in Granada , she won the silver medal in the 1000 m, 1500 m and with the relay. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she won the World Cup in Montreal with the relay. At the 2016 World Championships in Seoul, she won the gold medal with the relay. In February 2017 she was third in the relay at the World Cup in Minsk .
