Alma is an unincorporated community in Clarke County in the state of Alabama in the United States .

geography

Alma is located in southwest Alabama in the southern United States. About 35 kilometers south of the village, the Majors Creek flows into the Tombigbee River , which eventually flows into Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico as the Mobile River and Tensaw River .

Nearby locations include Jackson (9 km west), Wagarville (13 km west), Uriah (23 km southeast), and Frisco City (25 km east). The next larger city, with 195,000 inhabitants, is Mobile, about 80 kilometers to the south .

The place was named after the teacher Alma Flinn .
