Almuth Hartwig-Tiedt , before 2011 Almuth Nehring-Venus (born October 4, 1959 in Malchin , Neubrandenburg district , GDR ) is a German political official ( Die Linke ). From November 2014 to October 2018 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family of the State of Brandenburg . From 2006 to 2011 she was State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Women; from 2012 to 2014 State Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Health and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1978 in Malchin, Hartwig-Tiedt completed a traineeship in the editorial department of Junge Welt until 1979 and then studied journalism at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig . In 1983 she graduated as a journalist and started working as an editor at Junge Welt. In 1994 she moved to New Germany in the same position .

From 1996 to 1999 Hartwig-Tiedt worked for the PDS parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives , where she was responsible for feminist, economic and labor market policy. From 2001 to 2002 she worked for the regional executive committee of the Democratic Socialism Party (PDS), where she was, among other things, campaign manager for her party in the early parliamentary elections in October 2001 . From 2002 she took over political offices as district councilor and later state secretary.

Almuth Hartwig-Tiedt is married and has two children.

Hartwig-Tiedt was a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) during the GDR era . Later she belonged to the successor party PDS, now she is a member of the party Die Linke. Within the party, she took on various leadership positions, from 1997 to 2004 she was a member of the PDS state executive in Berlin, and from 1999 as deputy state chairwoman.

From 1999 to 2002 Hartwig-Tiedt was a member of the district assembly of the Prenzlauer Berg district (after the district reform of the Pankow district ) and was temporarily the deputy chairman of the PDS parliamentary group. From 2002 to 2006 she was city councilor for culture and economy in the Pankow district office of Berlin, with additional responsibility for public order (from 2004). After the 2006 elections, she was District Councilor for Culture, Economy and Urban Development until she was appointed State Secretary (October to December 2006).

From December 6, 2006, Hartwig-Tiedt was State Secretary in the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Women led by Harald Wolf . After the change of government following the 2011 parliamentary elections , she was put into temporary retirement on December 13, 2011.

From November 2012 to November 2014 Hartwig-Tiedt was State Secretary in the Ministry for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg. On November 5, 2014, she was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family of the State of Brandenburg. On October 1, 2018, she was released as a result of the Lunapharm scandal. Her successor as State Secretary was Andreas Büttner .
