Andreas Büttner (born July 3, 1973 in Kassel ) is a German politician (formerly CDU and FDP , now Die Linke ), was a member of the state parliament of Brandenburg and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there. Since October 1, 2018, he has been State Secretary in the Brandenburg Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family.

Life

Büttner grew up in Baunatal . He belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on, is married and lives with his wife and four children in common Templin ( Uckermark ). He is a member of various associations and organizations, including the German-Israeli Society . In addition, Büttner is active as an organist in churches of various religious communities .

Employment

Furthermore, according to the commercial register , he was managing director of a media agency in Eberswalde from 2011 to 2013 together with an electoral district employee . After finishing his political career in the state, he returned to the Berlin police service. Büttner is also the managing director of a consulting firm specializing in confidential government contacts with offices in Germany and the USA .

Politically

Member of the CDU

Andreas Büttner was initially a member of the Baunatal local association of the CDU youth organization Junge Union and the CDU, which he co-founded .

Member of the FDP

After moving to Brandenburg, he became a member of the FDP, whose Uckermark district he led from 2007. In the same year Büttner became a member of the state board of the FDP Brandenburg . Büttner was chairman of the Templin branch, which after internal party quarrels, now only consisted of five people, including several members of Büttner's family; a large number of the members, including the three city councilors, left the party in November 2012.

In 2008, Büttner was elected to the Presidium of the FDP Brandenburg. From 2008 to 2011 he was also chairman of the state committee for education and school. On December 5, 2009 he was appointed acting general secretary of the FDP Brandenburg.

At the state party conference of the FDP Brandenburg on March 27, 2010, Büttner was confirmed as Secretary General with almost 84% of the votes. He resigned as General Secretary on August 31, 2010 after he succeeded Hans-Peter Goetz as Chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Brandenburg State Parliament. Büttner is Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education, Youth and Sport and a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Family. In 2010 he initiated the replacement of the then parliamentary group leader Hans-Peter Goetz in the background; he is said to have had his own ambitions for this post. The press described the process as a coup.

In March 2013 Büttner ran for the federal executive committee of the FDP. With 23.56 and 20.52% of the votes in two ballots, he failed to make it onto the committee.

On April 6, 2013, Büttner was elected deputy chairman of the FDP Brandenburg. The previous incumbent Linda Teuteberg surprisingly renounced a campaign candidacy in his favor and thus ended a leadership dispute with chairman Gregor Beyer that was smoldering in the party .

On November 30, 2013, Büttner was elected the top candidate of the Brandenburg FDP for the state elections on September 14, 2014. After the lost state election, in which the FDP left the state parliament, Büttner resigned from the office of deputy chairman.

Büttner is a member of the city council of Templin . There he is chairman of the committee for social affairs, culture, education and sport. Until 2014 he was a member of the Uckermark district council .

Member of Die Linke

In October 2015, Büttner announced that he was leaving the FDP and joining the Die Linke party. Büttner was elected to the Brandenburg State Arbitration Commission at the Left Party Congress in March 2016. For the 2017 federal election , Büttner ran as a direct candidate in the Uckermark - Barnim I constituency , where he received 18.4% of the vote, which was 8.7% less than in the 2013 federal election .

State Secretary

On October 1, 2018, Büttner was appointed State Secretary of the Brandenburg Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family under the new Minister Susanna Karawanskiy , succeeding Almuth Hartwig-Tiedt , who in the wake of the Lunapharma scandal over the delivery of insufficient Cancer drugs alongside Minister Diana Golze was released.

Volunteering

Andreas Büttner supports a private child aid project in the Philippines and a youth camp for Israeli and Palestinian children in Israel . In addition, he is a member of the Multicultural Center Templin and the chairman of UM Queer eV, an association for the integration and networking of gays , lesbians , bisexuals and trans * people in the Uckermark.
