The FDP Brandenburg is the regional association of the Free Democratic Party in the state of Brandenburg .

history

The regional association was founded in 1990 and moved into the state parliament in the 1990 state election with a result of 6.6%. Manfred Stolpe ( SPD ) formed a traffic light coalition made up of the SPD, Bündnis 90 and FDP; the FDP occupied two ministries. In the state elections in 1994 , in which the SPD achieved an absolute majority, the FDP lost two thirds of its votes and, with 2.2 percent of the votes, clearly missed entry into the state parliament. In the 1999 state election , the FDP continued to lose and only achieved 1.9% of the vote. In 2004 the FDP increased, but failed again with a result of 3.3% at the five percent hurdle. In the state elections in 2009 , the FDP recorded the largest increase in votes of all parties with a plus of 3.9% and moved into the state parliament with a result of 7.2% with seven members. The chairman of the FDP parliamentary group was Hans-Peter Goetz , who was then replaced by Andreas Büttner . In the state elections in 2014 , the FDP received 1.5% of the votes and left the state parliament.
