Alois Reichl (born February 1, 1950 - June 17, 2012 ) was a Liechtenstein natural track tobogganist . He took part in the World Championships in 1986 and 1990 and drove two races in the World Cup in the 2000/2001 season .

Career

After Alois Reichl had mainly participated in national, but also in international races for several years, he attended a one-week training camp in Montreux in 1986 to prepare for the start of the World Championship in Aosta . At this world championship he was the only one of the three participating Liechtenstein tobogganers to see the finish line. He finished the competition in 45th place out of 49 rated tobogganers. After further starts at national and international level, he again took part in a world championship four years later . This time he was the only Liechtenstein participant to achieve 43rd place among 51 rated tobogganers in Gsies .

Over the next few years, Reichl continued to successfully take part in national natural track luge competitions, such as the state and club championships, and later also in roller luge competitions. In addition, from the late 1980s to 2008 he was a junior trainer for natural track at the Triesenberg toboggan club . As such, he trained his sons Peter and Luis, among others . Like his father, the latter also took part in two world championships and competed in the World Cup for four years , which has existed since the 1992/1993 season. After Luis Reichl had ended his career in 2000, Alois Reichl returned to international racing and took part in two World Cup races in the 2000/2001 season , in which he finished 25th and 32nd, but only in the bottom field.
