Alois Riedl (* 1935 in St. Marienkirchen near Schärding ) is an Austrian painter and draftsman .

Live and act

The artist, who has been married to the artist Annerose since 1973, lives and works in Brunnenthal and Schärding .

He made his first contact with the fine arts in 1960 with pencil drawings on paper and cardboard and from 1970 onwards, regardless of the general trend towards abstraction, he aimed to develop his painterly talent in a targeted manner. As a source of inspiration, he usually uses heavily used home accessories that he artistically processes. Only in the course of the years did his interest in abstraction increase and his forms became more closed, more geometric and less oriented towards the object. This was followed by implementation in sculptures with wooden disks as working material, which he then painted and thus initiated a new painterly-plastic phase of his work.

Over the years he has created a network and a communication platform for artist colleagues of all ages.

Riedl is a member of the MAERZ artists ' association , the association of female artists and the Innviertel artists' guild .
