Alois Riegler
Alois Riegler (born June 14, 1861 in Sankt Georgen, municipality of Sankt Marein near Neumarkt , † December 4, 1940 in Ranten near Murau ) was an Austrian politician of the CS .
life and career
Alois Riegler was a full-time farmer. He was a founding member and functionary of the Catholic conservative farmers' association for Styria. From 1896 to 1919 he was mayor of the municipality of St. Marein near Neumarkt. From 1900 to 1930 he was a member of the Styrian Landtag .
From December 4, 1930 to May 2, 1934 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council for the Christian Socials. From February 25, 1920 to June 25, 1926, Riegler was regional councilor in the Styrian state parliament and from 1927 to 1930, alongside Josef Pongratz, he was state governor of Styria under Hans Paul and Anton Rintelen .
