Alois Schifferle

Alois Schifferle (* 1945 in Leuggern / Aargau ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and university professor .

Life

After finishing school, Schifferle first worked in a gardening business and then completed an administration apprenticeship from 1962 to 1965. In 1970 he graduated from the Friedrich-Spee-Kolleg in Neuss and studied theology and philosophy at the University of Münster and the University of Innsbruck . Then Schifferle was employed as a Catholic religion teacher in Warendorf in 1978 and 1979 . In 1981 he received his doctorate and was ordained a Roman Catholic priest. This was followed by a position as vicar in Binningen , Canton of Basel-Landschaft . Schifferle worked as a university pastor in Friborg / Switzerland for 13 years. and completed his habilitation in 1993. In 1999, Schifferle was employed as a university professor for pastoral theology and homiletics at the Theological University in Chur . From 1998 to 2011 Schifferle was employed as a professor at the University of Eichstätt , where he was also dean of the theological faculty from 2001 to 2005. In 2011 he retired.

Schifferle writes articles in specialist journals and books on topics of pastoral theology, church structure and the Pius Brotherhood .
