Alojzy Adamczyk

Alojzy Adamczyk (born June 16, 1895 in Loslau , Pleß district , Upper Silesia ; † January 10, 1940 in Mauthausen concentration camp ) was a Polish resistance fighter and participant in all three uprisings in Upper Silesia .

Adamczyk was trained as a locksmith and worked in a coking plant in Radlin in Wodzisław Śląski until the outbreak of World War II . On September 8, 1939, during the conquest of Poland by the Wehrmacht , he received a summons to the police, was arrested and held in a basement office in Radlin. From there he was transported to the Buchenwald concentration camp and then to the Mauthausen concentration camp , where he was murdered.

Adamczyk was a distant descendant of the last Polish king, Stanislaus II August Poniatowski .
