Alsen (Jämtland)
Alsen is a parish in the northern Swedish community Krokom . The parish Alsen belongs to the diocese of Härnösand and is located about 50 kilometers northwest of the Jämtland capital Östersund .
history
Alsen is located on Alsensjön in the western part of the historical province of Jämtland and today's province of Jämtland County .
In Glösa there are rock carvings up to 6000 years old. Alsen belonged to Norway from 1178 to 1536 and from 1537 to 1645 together with Norway to Denmark . In 1645 Alsen came to Sweden through the Peace of Brömsebro .
Until 1974 Alsen was a separate municipality.
Economy and Infrastructure
Alsen has long been shaped by a traditional farming culture. There are smaller industries, especially in Trångsviken on Storsjön . Trangia AB is a Swedish company that has been making alcohol stoves since 1925 . His head office is in Trångsviken.
Alsen is on European route 14 from Sundsvall to Trondheim .
