history

western choir with altar and three church windows

The Hastedter Kirchenbauverein was founded in 1862 . The Protestant, neo-Gothic , single-nave church was consecrated in the same year, while the independent Protestant parish in Hastedt was only founded in 1867. The central tower in the east with its pointed, octagonal tower spire has a height of 29 m. The altar stands in the choir with a five-eighth closing on the west side.

The first pastor was Ernst Christian Achelis since 1868 ; later professor for practical theology at the Philipps University of Marburg . His son Hans Achelis , also a professor of theology, was born in Hastedt .

Western areas of Hastedt were incorporated into Bremen in 1902 to form the district of Hulsberg. The church therefore belongs to the Ostliche Vorstadt district formed in 1951. In 1926 the church was renovated. It was damaged in World War II. During the restoration, the paintings from 1926 were lost.

In 1951 the baptismal font by the Bremen sculptor Klaus Bücking was added, two bells in 1951 and 1953 and new stalls in 1962.
