The Altdorfer Dorfbach is a creek around 5 kilometers long in the canton of Uri in Switzerland . The stream was artificially created in the late Middle Ages to provide energy for local businesses. In Bürglen it is fed with an average of 0.8 m³ / s water from the Schächenbach and flows into the Urnersee , part of Lake Lucerne , near Flüelen . The Dorfbach always runs in an almost completely covered canal between the municipalities of Bürglen and Altdorf . The brook reappears below the village center of Altdorf. From here it drains the entire flank of the Altdorf Bannwald forest.
