The former school house in Linderte

The old school is a listed former school building in Linderte , a district of Ronnenberg in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony . After the school was closed in 1966, the building housed an administrative branch and was then converted into a residential building.

history

The Easter chapel and the school house

There had been a school in Linderte since around the year 1700 . The teacher had additional activities to do in the Linderte chapel .

A major fire in 1824 destroyed or damaged numerous buildings in Linderte. This included the school building at that time. This stood at the later location of the Linderte home parlor.

In 1825, the two communities Linderte and Vörie agreed to build a new joint schoolhouse right next to the Linderte chapel . Farmers and craftsmen from both villages were involved in the construction work . The fire fund paid 225 thalers and each of the two villages had to pay 378 Reichstaler and 28 Mariengroschen for the construction.

In the years from 1912 to 1919, interrupted by the First World War , the schoolhouse was rebuilt. When state and church were separated after the First World War, the schoolhouse came into public hands.

With the exception of the years 1950 to 1954, children of all ages were taught in one room at the same time. Until 1966 the children from Linderte and until 1956 also those from Vörie attended school in Linderte. Later cohorts from both places attended the elementary school in Weetzen .

In 1969, Linderte became a district of Ronnenberg. The former school building at Schulstrasse 1 temporarily became the seat of the Linderter administrative branch of the municipality, or since 1975 the town of Ronnenberg. In 1986 the city sold the now listed building to a private owner for residential purposes. After his death, the building, which was in dire need of renovation, was auctioned off in 2014.

The former school house is a simple two-story half-timbered building.

There was an apartment upstairs for the teacher. The building was clad with reddish panels in the 20th century. After 2014, this cladding was probably removed during the building renovation. Since then, the building has had white plaster and some window openings on the ground floor that are emphasized by brick.

The building described as a massive multi-family house with an extension had a total of 416 m² of living space in 2014. It stands on a plot of almost 900 m². With the neighboring chapel , which is also listed , the school building forms a group of structures in the center of the village.

Others

In the Linderte home parlor, among other things, the original school desks from the old Lindert school are on display.
