The building Althöfer Weg 1 in Steinbach , a district of the market town of Burghaun in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda , was built in 1801. The half-timbered house is a protected cultural monument .

The standing on a hillside gable permanent cripple walmdachbau has a high sandstone blocks base with profiled upper end. This basement was previously used as a stable. An inscription in the base names the builder and the year of construction 1801.

The two-storey building has a high -quality half-timbered structure facing the street, with man figures on collar and corner posts . The entablature zone has profiled sill joists and filler wood as well as cantilevered rounded joist heads . The corner posts are provided with round rod carvings, with the round rod being framed by flower ornaments at the top and bottom. On the upper floor of the long side facing the courtyard there are stucco decorative rings with the inscription “God protect this house”. A covered staircase leads to the entrance.

The farm buildings on the side are more recent.
