Altlewin Church

Altlewin is a village that today belongs to the municipality of Neutrebbin in the Märkisch-Oderland district.

Geographical location

Altlewin is located about four kilometers north of Neutrebbin, about three kilometers south of Neulewin and about twelve kilometers east of Wriezen . The village is located on the southern edge of the Oderbruch .

In 2005 about 55 people lived in the village.

history

Settlements in the area of ​​Altlewin can be proven as early as the Middle Bronze Age . In 1820 a terrine was found in an urn burial ground. The place is mentioned for the first time in 1375 as Louwen. With the completion of the colonist village Neulewin in 1755, the village was named Altlewin. In 1764 138 people lived here.

In 1954 the LPG was “7. October “founded. In 1957 Altlewin came to the Alttrebbin community . Since 1997, both villages have belonged to the Neutrebbin community.

Architectural monuments

In Altlewin there are three buildings under monument protection.

The Protestant village church is located on the village square. The church was consecrated on March 6, 1883. In the years 1992 to 1993 the church was renovated. The church is a brick building with a gable roof. It has a semicircular apse and a tower. The interior is from the period after 1945.

Altlewin 5 is part of a blacksmith's farm. The house was built in 1813, the stable building with coach house was built in 1900.

House Altlewin 12 is the remainder of a three-sided courtyard . It is a gable-independent house with a jamb and gable roof . The stable was built in 1870. After 1954 the house was the seat of the LPG “7. October".
