Alvorada is a city with almost 210,000 (as of 2018) inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 25 km east of Porto Alegre . The towns of Cachoeirinha , Gravataí , Porto Alegre and Viamão are neighboring . Originally, Alvorada was part of the Viamão municipality.
